EchoTaps May 21, 2005
On May 21, 2005 there will be an attempt to connect two National Cemeteries together with a line of buglers playing Taps.
This effort will require 600 to 800 buglers to form an audible connection between Elmira, NY Woodlawn National Cemetery and the Bath, NY National Cemetery, a total distance of 41 miles.
A bugler at the Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira will play Taps. A second bugler will follow by playing a Taps echo. This will be followed by a third, forth, fifth...The echo will continue toward a second National Cemetery located at the Bath VA Center, traveling at a rate of 60 miles per hour.
An EchoTaps Honor Guard Ride (motorcycles) including the Corning Harley Owners Group #3175 will participate in the event.
Visit the site http://echotaps.org/ to get more information about the event and especially to hear the "Echo of Taps being played." It's an awesome sound.....
Get behind this Attempt.
A big thank you to Bill Canfield for sending the information.

Dick and I heard a sample of this at Corning's Park Avenue Civil War Monument during the Veteran's Day ceremonies last November. It gives you "goose bumps". Probably a once in a lifetime affair. Anyone that has a drop of patriotic blood should plan to attend.
