I don't shop Walmart unless it is an emergency and survive very well.People seemed to get fine until Walmart came to town and put put K-mart and P C out of business. Now we have two vacant buildings to grace the area. Not to mention loss of business. I would like to see Sears and K-Mart ,Target give Walmart a run for their money. That's good old USA competition.
I'm afraid good ole American competition and poor management did K-Mart in. Wal-Mart wasn't "the" reason K-Mart declared bankruptcy. Target manages to compete with Wal-Mart quite well, but they do so because of better management strategies and decisions. copy and paste this URL into your browser address window for more information why K-Mart declared bankruptcy and had to close the Erwin store.

Although K-mart declared banruptcy-it still exists-apparently learning from its mistakes and has joined forces with Sears. Maybe 2 heads are better than one. The PP store may have closed ,but Bath and Horseheads stores still provide good services.
Before Walmart ever came to town-friends from another state informed me that once Walmart came to town-K-mart would be forced to close and it did. I don't always find Walmart specials all that great. You get what you pay for.
