The Road to Impeachment

Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson
Originally uploaded by Sally Ann.

For all you political junkies out there who’ve been following the Valerie Plame/Joe Wilson/Karl Rove and Scooter Libby witch hunt and especially those who haven’t been, loosen up and take notice of what’s going on: We have a potential “political crisis” on our hands . The Left is using the grand jury investigation into the alleged leaking of Valerie Plame’s name by White House officials, Karl Rove and Scooter Libby to set up a “legal path” to “criminally charge and impeach” George Bush and members of his administration for allegedly misleading the US into the war in Iraq.

You think I’m overreacting? I am not! I’ve been following this story from the beginning and watched how the Liberal Main Stream Media has twisted the facts to the point where I can’t recognize them anymore. To say that I am furious would be an understatement! I’m all for getting to the “truth” of any matter, but the media spin job on the Plame case is by far the most “unethical” bias agenda I’ve witnessed in 30 years. There “was” a break-in and a cover-up with Watergate. No crime has been committed by any member of the Bush administration in the Plame case. But there is a criminal act in process right now, and it’s being perpetrated against the American people by the Liberal Main Stream Media in the worst case of brainwashing through “headlines and biased political commentary on TV news shows” in the history of our country. CNN pushed the “racist angle” of Katrina. I watched Wolf Blitzer ONE DAY after the hurricane raise the issue of racism in his coverage and commentary that took off like a rocket across the country. While all the other Liberal MSM outlets are “lying/spinning as well” about the Plame case, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on his “Hardball” show has been the lead distributor of misinformation. For over two weeks now, Matthews has been talking about the Plame case to the exclusion of all other news, to push his anti-war impeach Bush agenda. Normally, Matthews is on MSNBC just for the duration of his one hour show Hardball, but this week he’s been on in the mornings, in the afternoons and airing Hardball “twice” in one day pushing lies about the Plame case.

If you don’t believe the Left Wing Media is out to get the Bush Administration you are sadly mistaken. I’ve raised this issue on the blog to shake both my Republican and Democrat readers awake. Whether you are for the war in Iraq or against it is not the issue. The Liberal Main Stream Media is brainwashing you to conform to their anti-war anti-Bush agenda. They want Bush impeached for going to war in Iraq and they are going to use the Plame case to create a “legal path” in the courts to make it happen. It is the relentless act of Liberal media brainwashing and legislating through the courts that should make you stand up and shout “I’m not going to take it anymore!” because it tears at the very fabric of our democratic process. The Liberal Media makes sure you don’t get the “whole truth”, just their message and this is profoundly unethical. Liberals use the courts to legislate their policies because they can’t get them passed through the Legislative Branch of our government. This is the epitome of arrogance and foul play.

The Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald will either indict Karl Rove or throw the case out sometime this week. If Karl Rove is indicted, Katie bar the door, because the legal path to impeach Bush will be set into motion. Will the Left be successful? I can’t answer that. All I know is they have the upper hand at this moment. In an effort to provide a “balanced impeachable account” of the Plame case, click on the headline "The Road to Impeachment" to read Stephen Hayes rather lengthy article (12 pages) on the chain of events that gave rise to a grand jury investigation. I’ll admit the case is very complicated for those who haven’t had the time to follow it as intensely as I have, but we as a nation are on the verge of being torn apart in war time for political gain and you must understand the politics involved.

Count me as a viewer of the circus as well! I have watched the "story" unfold and am amazed at the fact that this has gone as far as it has. Scares the heck out of me to think that we have allowed the media to gain so much power over our daily lives. Bad news and sensationalism sells, and the media plays on our fears, our emotions and our general willingness to accept anything they feed us as gospel.

How many people these days really listen to what is being said on the news? How often do we hear the whole story about anything?

Consider the facts that have come out over the past few years regarding the media and their deliberate attempts to mislead us. If they can't find real facts and truths to support their political agendas, they just make it up as they go!

There are a lot of people out there that are joining the blogging community to discuss what is being said and question the accuracy and truthfulness of what is coming out of the media these days, thank heaven. The bloggers have shut down more than one high riding reporter and from what I can see they are just getting started.

Next time you listen to the news, really listen to what they are presenting. Are you being given the whole picture? Try watching another news source, if you tend to watch the same one every day. Pay attention to how the different networks present the stories - if some breaking news story comes on, switch around to different news channels to see how each is presenting the facts. I started doing this on 9/11 because I was trying to stay on top of the breaking news. What I saw that day shocked the heck out of me!

Ask yourself "are they giving me all the facts or spoon feeding me what they want me to swallow and believe?" It is a very illuminating exercise. Of all the channels I pay attention to, Fox News is by far the most balanced in presentation, CNN tries to at least appear balanced some of the time and the other networks are just plain scary in comparison.

I would really like to hear from other folks who are paying attention to what is happening out there and get their read on it as well.
